Next UVNA Meeting, September 17th at 7:30pm

The next UVNA meeting will be at Columbus Elementary School (1003 N Leavitt St), starting at 7:30pm. This meeting is starting a little later so that we can include Alderman Hopkins, who will join us to discuss neighborhood ideas for Chicago revenue and the upcoming budget. Be sure to prepare with your best questions. Columbus has a parking lot to the west to accommodate those coming from different parts of the 2nd Ward. New streets coming to Ukrainian Village just before Halloween

News from Alderman Hopkins office on some new street resurfacing.

“We have our first list of streets to be resurfaced for the 2nd Ward, all of these projects will happen between the end of September and the middle of October. These are just the first streets to be scheduled, we have more orders in Spring 2016. If you’d like to make sure we review your street for resurfacing, email us at Ward02@cityofchicago.org

Over 50 yard sales this Saturday, May 30th!

The Ukrainian Village Neighborhood Association is promoting a neighborhood-wide yard sale on Saturday May 30th.

So far 54 yard sales across the area and 5 artisan tables reserved at the main parking lot location at Augusta and Leavitt (#18 on the map)

Upcoming 2nd Ward debate, March 24th starting at 7pm

You are invited! The UVNA is co-sponsoring the upcoming 2nd Ward debate on March 24th between Alyx Pattison and Brian Hopkins.

Two of the best political writers in the city will be moderating. Greg Hinz , Political editor for Crain’s Chicago Business, and Hal Dardick, City Hall reporter at Chicago Tribune.

This time our moderators and candidates will have the freedom to go into detail with open questions and responses. Candidates will even be allowed to ask each other direct questions.

This event is co-sponsored by the East Village Association, and the Wicker Park Committee. Special thanks to Principal Oleksy and Columbus Elementary for the use of their auditorium.
