More Police Needed: This Petition Asks for Manpower Levels to Increase

If you are concerned with the recent uptick in crime in the area, please sign this petition that will be presented to our aldermen asking for more officers. We have lost 34% of our officers since districts 12 and 13 merged, so that we now only have only 35 more officers than we did when the districts merged. The new 12th district is the largest geographically in the city, so the lack of officers is putting all of us at risk.

Please share this link with all of your friends and neighbors.

Congratulations to Ed Sroka!

Edward ‘Ed’ Sroka, sometimes known as the “Mayor of Augusta Boulevard” has spent his entire life residing in the historic, Ukrainian Village neighborhood.
Now in his 90’s, Ed’s good will toward fellow neighbors was recognized by dedicating the 2300 block of Augusta Boulevard to him and naming it “Edward Sroka Way.” Growing up, Ed attended St. Helen’s School, Columbus Elementary and Lane Tech High School. He has been a lifelong member of St. Helen’s Parish, and continues to live in the same house he grew up in. He spent much of his time volunteering with neighbors, reporting much needed neighborhood repairs, helping to educate neighbors about the upcoming election seasons, and assisting neighbors with tax assistance and education.
