Don’t forget the UVNA monthly meeting is this Thursday night (4/14) at the Hoyne Avenue Wesleyan Church (Iowa & Hoyne) at 6:30pm. This month’s meeting will focus on cycling and cyclists in our neighborhood. Aldolfo Hernandez, the Director of Advocacy for the Active Transportation Alliance here in Chicago will be on hand, as well as members from the Wicker Park/Bucktown SSA Bike & Pedestrian Committee to discuss the following topics with our members:
- How both neighborhood organizations and the Active Transportation Alliance can work together to promote bike-friendly transportation initiatives for the 32nd ward
- Possible events or commuter stations we can host in our neighborhood for Chicago’s Bike To Work Week 2011 ((June 11-17)
- Bike theft in our neighborhood and best practices to avoid getting your bike stolen as well as things to do to improve the odds of recovery a stolen bike
- Planning an Active Trans Social in Ukrainian Village
